Firefighters Battle Fire in Highland

A wildfire burned approximately 1,400 acres and destroyed multiple homes in the San Bernardino County community of Highland on Wednesday, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

Evacuations Ordered

The fire started around 11:30 a.m. near Tippecanoe Avenue and Palm Avenue. Evacuations were ordered for the area south of Boulder Avenue, west of Tippecanoe Avenue, and north of Victoria Avenue.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the scene and were working to contain the blaze.
